How Invisalign Works

Invisalign® takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of aligners created for you and only you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth. Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements your dentist or orthodontist plans out for you. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You just pop in a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks, until your treatment is complete. You’ll achieve a great smile with little interference in your daily life. The best part about the whole process is that most people won’t even know you’re straightening your teeth.

Why Invisalign

Sure, there are other options out there for straightening your teeth, but none offers the level of comfort, convenience and confidence that you’ll find with Invisalign®. And no matter what stage you’re at in life, you’ll appreciate how our cutting-edge approach to treatment has minimal interference in how you live, but has a significant positive impact on how you look and feel about yourself.

Invisalign for Adults & Teens

Choosing to straighten your teeth is a big decision that affects not only your appearance, but your lifestyle as well. As an adult, you may be looking to improve your smile for business and social reasons, or even for a special occasion like your wedding day. Or perhaps you’re a teen or the parent of a teen looking for an effective yet modern-day solution. Either way, Invisalign® and Invisalign Teen® can provide a simple way to accomplish this without having to put your life on hold. Payment Options

One of the first questions people tend to have when considering Invisalign® is, “How much will it cost?” The good news is that most individuals are pleasantly surprised to discover that the cost of Invisalign treatment is usually comparable to the cost of traditional braces.

What about insurance?

Many dental insurance plans cover Invisalign just as they would other orthodontic treatments such as braces. Either your Invisalign Provider or your insurance carrier can help you to determine the exact coverage for your treatment. About a quarter of Invisalign patients receive insurance compensation for their treatment. On average, insurance pays over $500 of treatment costs.1

What are my other options?

If your insurance does not cover all of your treatment costs or if cost is a concern for you, talk to your Invisalign Provider about payment options—many doctors can offer flexible and affordable monthly payment plans. About one third of Invisalign patients use financing options to spread their treatment costs out over time.1

What About an FSA?

Many companies offer their employees FSAs. An FSA allows you to set aside a portion of your paycheck in order to pay for qualified medical expenses.

The money you elect to contribute is deducted from your pay and transferred directly into your FSA and, therefore, is not subject to payroll taxes. After incurring eligible medical costs, you can then submit your receipt for reimbursement from your FSA provider.

Since Invisalign falls under orthodontic treatment, these costs can qualify for FSA reimbursement. If your company offers an FSA and you know you’d like to use it to pay for Invisalign, plan ahead and consult your benefits department. When it comes time to enroll in your program, you can authorize a deduction for the appropriate amount for your Invisalign treatment and save money while doing it, since it’s a pretax contribution. It’s an easy and convenient way to get the smile you want.
